Responsibilities:
  • Perform broader design engineering activities involving the design of vessels, equipment, systems, components, structures, etc. using internal spreadsheets and industry standard software (Compress or PV Elite).
  • Organize the information and assist in developing designs, specifications, and drawings.
  • Reviewing specifications and drawings for quality and accuracy.
  • Perform technical evaluations of bids and recommendation for purchase, for any equipment or vessel type.
  • Unassisted review of vendor/shop drawings to assure compliance with design/specifications.
  • Develop routine technical reports, manpower estimates, schedules, etc.
  • Responding to technical queries from clients in a timely fashion.
  • Prioritizing of schedules in an engineering matrix organization.
  • Collaborate well with project team members and vendors, contractors, and clients.
  • Should also exhibit knowledge and awareness of design codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Strongknowledge of vessel design and proven working experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles and analysis tools to product design.
  • Experiencewith the use of vessel design software (i.e., Compress or PV Elite) and mathematical computing and analysis tools.
  • Experience in finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using ANSYS software, and AutoCAD would be beneficial however not required.
  • Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
  • Creativity and analytical skills with the ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
