Position Description:
deciBel Research is seeking a Software Engineer experienced in software development to support the modeling and simulation of missile defense systems. Will design, develop, test, document and integrate simulation products for the Missile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST) organization using C++ and Java programming languages on Linux operating systems. Responsibilities include designing and developing software to model various systems (including DSP, SBIRS, JTAGS, and TACDAR) to accurately represent capabilities of the spaced-based detection and reporting of ballistic missiles. May also include interfacing with MDST customers and presenting technical briefings to MDST stakeholders.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate must be proficient in C++, Java, or similar programming language. Must have a strong understanding of object oriented software development, and have a basic understanding of Linux and/or UNIX platforms.

Special Skills Desired:
Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic discrete event simulation platform. Experience in agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban. Knowledge/experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge, spaced-based sensor systems, modeling and simulation development, UNIX and Linux platforms. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment as well as strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Minimal travel may be required.
