DescriptionKAUST is inviting applicants for a lecturer or senior lecturer position in its newly launched Bioengineering Degree Program (MS and PhD levels). This program will bridge KAUST’s strengths in Engineering, Chemistry and Biology and Chemistry. In particular, it will integrate elements of electrical and mechanical engineering, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science and materials science with biology. The program will consist of four tracks: Computational Biosciences and Digital Health, Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, Bioelectronics, Synthetic Biology and Microbial Engineering.
The candidate is expected to establish and teach general laboratory courses in bioengineering in at least two of the tracks, which include techniques in synthetic biology, 3D printing, fabrication/scaffolds, microfluidics, bioelectronics and measurements, bioreactors, and computational statistical components. The candidate is also expected to teach general bioengineering courses in at least two of the tracks. The candidate will also play a major role in the student admission process by performing assessment academic interviews and evaluation tests.
The candidate should hold a PhD in Bioengineering or related fields. Teaching experience with classroom and/or in laboratory setting in Bioengineering or related fields at the university level is required. The candidate must have a strong communication and organizational skills.
