The “Mutaz and Rada Sawwaf Master in Islamic Art” at the Lebanese American University is now accepting applications for a visiting professor for fall 2019. The MA program was established in Spring 2015 for the purpose of preparing young candidates for a PhD in this field, or for students aiming to broaden their knowledge of Islamic Art and Architecture. The program offers scholarships to qualified students.

The aim of the visiting professorship is to invite scholars of Islamic art & architecture to participate in this new program, and to expose students to a variety of topics in Islamic art and architecture. The selected faculty would teach 2 to 3 courses per semester.

Minimum Requirements
PhD in Art History or Architecture History with a focus on Islamic Art/Architecture.

Duration of Position
This position will be open for one term or one full academic year starting in Fall 2019, and may be renewable in case of mutual interest.
