The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for purchasing, designing, and implementing large new manufacturing lines.
Main responsibilities
- Manage capital equipment and tooling projects, relative to machining, part washing, assembly, leak detection, gauging, automation, and packaging.
- Develop engineering estimates for engineering changes including weight, tool cost, piece price, and lead time.
- Maintain Nemak specifications for all purchased equipment and tooling.
- Provide product design input to designers and feasibility assessments as related to good manufacturing practices.
- Provide plant productivity support for automation and plant engineering activities.
- Order and process new capital equipment and tooling to standards as required to meet project timing plans.
- Conduct manufacturing process design reviews with manufacturing, quality, and tool room in order to obtain preliminary and final feasibility sign off.
Profile Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, ideally Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience in Manufacturing Engineering, ideally with 10 years experience
- Understanding of die casting and machining processes
- Understanding of quoting and estimating
- Knowledge of automation and robotics
- Understanding of die cast tooling and process engineering
