Position Summary

Serve as a principal and collaborative investigator for research that improves the health, lived environment, education, and economic outcomes of underserved communities by pursuing equity in opportunities and outcomes. Conduct all phases of research: garnering external funding, planning and coordinating goals and research projects, performing research, analyzing data, producing documentation, and publishing reports and articles.

As assigned, teach undergraduate courses in the history, philosophy, and sociology of sciences, such as: culture and technology; culture and the natural environment; human behavior - uncertainty and risk. Engage students with research about and serving the needs of underserved and vulnerable populations. In addition to traditional education, programs will focus on the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to address the varied needs of underserved populations, including rural, urban and international groups.

Represent Lyman Briggs College on committees, in activities, meetings, etc. in a manner that reflects collegial connection with the communities. Institutional analytic duties may be assigned.
