Position Summary

This position is focused on using metabolic flux analysis to understand central and lipid metabolism in the model plant Camelina Sativa. The research is part of a multi-group collaboration to use systems biology methods to increase oil yield in Camelina. The researcher in this position will perform both isotopic labeling experiments and computational analysis of metabolic flux using these and other experimental and literature data.

Duties include independent planning, execution, and interpretation of experiments; regular communication with the PI and other project members; collaborating closely with other members of the Shachar-Hill and collaborators’ groups; and mentoring graduate and undergraduate trainees.

This position is available for one year with possible renewal, contingent upon satisfactory performance and available funding. Desired start date is August 1, 2019.
