Position Summary: - The purpose of this position is to lead and support the implementation and installation of robotic/automated equipment into the factory.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Develop and Support Installation of Robotic/Automated Equipment in the factory
- Establish specifications and obtain quotes for equipment
- Search for and qualify suppliers of automated/robotic equipment
- Assist the robotic integrators and project managers with mechanical, electrical and programming set-up
- Inspect and verify equipment is installed and set up properly
- Monitor performance of equipment during start-up phase
- On-going Support of Automated/Robotic Equipment
- Adjust electrical, mechanical & electronic settings to optimize performance
- Respond to requests from project manager and Production for adjustments
- Troubleshoot problems with the equipment
- Re-program and re-teach the robotic/automated equipment, as necessary
- Train production operators to operate the automated equipment
- Answer employee questions regarding the equipment
- Write operations manuals and work instructions for the equipment
Technical Skill Requirements- AS Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical) or Engineering Technology or equivalent relevant professional experience
- 4-6-years experience in engineering or similar technical field
- Good knowledge or previous professional experience programming automated or robotic equipment (including plc programming)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of electrical wiring and mechanical diagramming
- Ability to effectively negotiate with vendors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of electronic and mechanical aspects and repair of robotic equipment
- Solid CAD skills, preferably Autocad
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
