DESCRIPTION

The Department of Art History in the College of Arts and Architecture is seeking an Administrative Support Coordinator to be responsible to the department head for managing the daily operations of the department. Oversee operational and administrative processes and monitor deadlines. Review office operations and lead efforts to maintain a positive culture. Handle confidential materials. Provide support to the department head. Responsibilities may include the following: coordination, either directly or through appropriate delegation; staff support for departmental committees; promotion and tenure documentation preparation; faculty travel arrangements and reimbursements; sabbatical leave requests and international programs; routine internal and external correspondence; collection and presentation of data for various reports; preparing and processing human resources forms for new and existing employees; and/or serving as facilities contact for building, office move coordination, and technology. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Detail-oriented candidates with office management experience are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to academic administration, financial, and human resources is preferred. Experience with eSteward, LionPath, IBIS, EIS, ERS, and Workday, is desired. The successful candidate must have excellent communication (both written and verbal), organizational and problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Candidate must be able to act independently and as a reliable member of a management team and be able to handle sensitive human resource issues with absolute confidentiality.
