TECHNICAL GRAPHIC DESIGNER (ELECTRONICS)
Reporting to the Global Marketing Communications Manager, the Technical Graphic Designer will have a solid background in Adobe Creative Cloud and Document Control Systems and a thorough knowledge and/or understanding of Technical or Engineering would be highly beneficial. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team and is able to perform detail oriented hands-on content management with minimal direction. This highly skilled individual will provide visual, marketing copy, layout and graphic design services for a variety of communications, both print and digital with the ability to continually evaluate and suggest improvements to content based on quantitative feedback.
About the job:
- Work with various functional departments, including online marketing, product management, technical support, market management and various SMEs to manage the creation and maintenance of collateral and content, including technical material, communication and other sales/marketing material. Continuous experimentation with content and collateral in order to maximize efficiency and consumption
- Ownership of Electronics Intranet, including the continuous management of Intranet system communications, training, workflow management, monitoring and reporting. Effectively manage all document libraries
- Collaborate with online marketing to maximize SEO/SEM optimization. Continuous evaluation and improvement of content based on quantitative feedback
- Suggest improvements to documentation, our style guide, and processes whenever possible, eventually demonstrating ownership of the technical graphic designer function
- Other duties as assigned by department manager
About you:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, with emphasis in technical design and/or technical writing
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant graphic design work experience, preferably in technical graphic design
- Expert knowledge in design programs (Adobe Creative Cloud, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Solid understanding of document controls and associated systems, such as Intranet and DAMs, Sharepoint and a familiar, working knowledge of back-end web systems such as Sitecore
- Engineering or technical background strongly preferred
- Experience designing for print and online/digital output; creation of marketing/messaging copy for digital communication
- Strong print/publishing production knowledge, including color separations, file set-up for print/digital, etc
- Highly creative self-starter
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong proofreading skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable in dealing with a technical product line and dealing with engineers and other technical resources
