HDR is seeking a Solid Waste EIT for our Charlotte, NC office. The primary duties of this position include all aspects of engineering for solid waste facilities including landfills and waste transfer stations with an emphasis on system planning, engineering analysis, cost estimating, design, design reviews/construction management and specification preparation. The specific duties may involve development of innovative techniques to maximize air space in landfills, landfill gas (LFG) generation and design, LFG management system design, erosion and sediment control structures, stormwater modeling and design, line of site analyses, perform engineering analysis and calculations to support landfill permitting and permit compliance, landfill expansion design, facility arrangements and design, feasibility studies, development of construction drawings and technical specifications and construction observation and management.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field required
• Interest or some experience designing facilities, grading and drainage and civil engineering
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience
• Microsoft Office experience
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

• EIT preferred
• Strong preference given to local candidates
