Summary:

The Business Manager will serve as the account team’s operational and finance the lead. The Business Manager serves as a collaborative business partner to team leads, ensuring that a cross-capability approach is applied to all issues related to staffing mix and fiscal health. The Business Manager is a key partner to the Senior Business Manager, acting as the account team’s financial controller. In this role, he/she is accountable for financial/staffing forecasts, regular budget reporting, securing PE and accurate invoicing. He/she is responsible for the optimization of the account team staffing structure, ensuring the right skill sets are applied to the work, to serve the business requirements, deliverable quality and financial well-being of the account.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Client-facing lead on all financial management issues; responsible for client budget reporting
  • Provides accurate and realistic forecasts; actively manages forecast to ensure targets are met and client finance is in the loop with the latest information (PE, billing, etc.)
  • Maintain project billing data within BGB project financial application
  • Routinely monitors financial performance of accounts to maximize revenue realization and profit margin
  • Ensures financial control of all client work (estimates, jobs, fees, billing, expense monitoring) throughout the account group
  • Responsible for regular budget status reporting for client and internal audiences; assesses trends and keeps all applicable parties in the loop
  • Reviews statement of work documentation; accountable for ensuring scope documentation is in place for all work
  • Responsible for account investment planning and management
  • Responsible for high-level account budget estimating and pitch pricing
  • Accountable for final reconciliation of projects and completing job closure forms

Team Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Partners with cross-capability leads to identify and manage true resource needs (internal and external) across the account team
  • Accountable for the accuracy of monthly staffing forecasts
  • Identifies and helps resolve people/account conflicts with practical solutions
  • Plays lead role in pricing and forecasting staff needs for new business opportunities
  • Assists Senior Business Manager in contract management (client, vendor, and inter-company issues)
  • Demonstrates strong, professional work ethic
