Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. We have a position available in our Lansing office for an entry-level civil engineer to work with our aviation group.
Responsibilities include analyzing and preparing engineering reports, specifications, construction cost estimates, and plans for various airport design projects; performing drafting tasks in AutoCAD and Civil3D to generate plan sheets; assisting with construction administration tasks including working in the field at project sites (weekends and nights, as needed); and reading and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to utilize in project designs. Some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering, or be able to obtain the degree within six months of start date.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: EIT certification; experience working in AutoCAD Civil3D; familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project software; civil/transportation design coursework; construction experience including site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, construction, pavement materials, materials testing, and/or surveying; previous internship with MDOT, FAA, or civil consulting firm is a plus.
