Summary:
- Tutor students (individually and in
groups) by appointment and/or drop-in, in assigned courses and content
material.
- Participate in required tutor
training and certification.
- Tutor students in various locations
on the main campus or at designated satellite locations.
- Volunteer for on campus events
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a current UVU student
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Grade of B or Better in PHYS 2210
& 2220 (or currently enrolled in 2220)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Physics
courses/content.
- Familiarity with available student
resources on campus.
- Basic understanding of study skills
and strategies.
- Excellent communication,
interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong time and task-management
skills.
- Reliability.
- Ability to collaborate with
students to enhance their content knowledge.
- Ability to communicate ideas and
concepts in a clear, concise, and friendly manner.
- Ability to read, write, and be
understood in English.
- Ability to maintain
confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain professional
relationships with staff, faculty, and students and contribute to the
smooth operation of the tutoring labs.
- Ability to participate in on-going
training.
Pay Range:
$10.50 DOE
