Sabancı University, a privately funded premier academic institution in Istanbul, invites exceptional scholars and researchers to apply for a full-time research faculty position in polymer chemistry at Sabancı University-Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Research and Application Center (SU-IMC). We seek outstanding faculty candidates at any rank and will focus on a candidate’s promise and/or track record during the review process. The SU-IMC, established in 2016 as an industrial-scale research and technology development facility, provides state-of-the-art facilities for component design, manufacturing, assembly, product development, process prototyping, fundamental and applied research, incubation services and commercialization opportunities in integrated manufacturing and composite materials technologies in its well-established Wet Chemistry, Polymer Processing, Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Composite Manufacturing, Material Characterization, Mechanical Test and Structural Health Monitoring, Computational Mechanics, and Control, Vision, and Robotics laboratories. The SU-IMC is currently undergoing extensive growth in the direction of Advanced Composite Materials, especially with the utilization of its industrial unit with KORDSA, Composite Technologies Center of Excellence (CTCE). 

The successful candidate must have a doctorate degree in Polymer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or an equivalent discipline. The applicant is required to have expertise in polymer synthesis and characterization, structure-property relationship in polymeric materials, functional polymers, high performance thermoset and thermoplastic polymers, and polymer nanocomposites. The candidate is required to have at least two-years of postdoctoral research experience in reputed academic institutes/research laboratories and is expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research and graduate student supervision. Expertise on the industrial research and development of polymeric materials and the management of intellectual property are strong assets. Ability to interact with researchers in other fields of polymer and composite material processing as well as other relevant disciplines is desirable.
