JOB PURPOSE Associate or Full Professor with a PhD in Linguistics with significant experience in teaching and supervision at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. A high level Scopus-indexed research is essential and a specialization in one or more of the following areas is an advantage: Lexicography; translation theory; computer-assisted translation; translation memory; parallel corpora; simultaneous interpreting; consecutive interpreting; subtitling.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching at all levels of the curriculum (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) and for research supervision of postgraduate students. She/he will produce high quality Scopus-indexed research consistent with the level of appointment, and will fulfil such administrative duties as the department chair or other university authorities appoint to them.
COMPETENCIES
Fluency in English and Arabic are essential.
The successful candidate must be computer skilled to the level required for a modern teaching environment.
