Department Summary
The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of North Texas invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Conservation / Wildlife Biology. Preference will be given to applicants with research interests focused on upland game bird biology and/or rangeland habitat conservation and a desire to develop an active field-based research and outreach program in partnership with local landowners and ranchers.
Position Summary
The faculty member will be expected to obtain funding to support a vibrant research program in the candidate’s discipline and engage in undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses in their area of expertise. The faculty member is also expected to participate in relevant regional, national, and international research communities within their discipline.
The faculty member is encouraged also to develop interdisciplinary collaborations within and between departments at UNT, including with faculty in the Advanced Environmental Research Institute (AERI; http://aeri.unt.edu). The faculty member should have an interest and participate in our growing undergraduate degree program in ecology (http://biology.unt.edu/undergraduate-programs/ecology-program) and graduate programs in biology (http://biology.unt.edu/graduate-programs), and is expected to help foster their continued growth along with other faculty members through instruction and research.

UNT offers a total of 101 bachelor’s degrees, 82 master’s degrees, and 38 doctoral degrees. Biological Sciences is a comprehensive department with over 40 faculty, including research faculty organized among three divisions (Ecology / Environmental Science, Physiology, and Biochemistry / Molecular Biology). We offer degrees in each area of concentration through the Ph.D. and have approximately 2800 undergraduate majors and 180 graduate students.
