The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction (CEEC) has 20 full-time faculty members in six technical areas. Multiple faculty members have received prestigious Early Career Awards from National Science Foundation and United States Environmental Protection Agency. Current enrollment of the Department includes about 300 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The CEEC Department’s Civil Engineering graduate program was ranked in the top 100 programs in the nation by the US News and World Report in 2017. High-speed computing facilities are available at the National Supercomputing Institute, hosted in the College of Engineering. ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of CEEC of the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering at UNLV invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor position commencing August 2018. The position will be in Geotechnical Engineering. Applications from highly qualified candidates in all areas of Geotechnical Engineering including, but not limited to, geo-environmental, geo-materials, and soil-structure interaction, are welcome. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, sustainable, and interdisciplinary funded research program in his or her area of expertise, supervise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their expertise area and participate in service to the Department, College, University, and profession.

QUALIFICATIONS
A Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field is required by the date of appointment. Candidates seeking appointments at an Associate Professor level must have a significant record of transformative funded research in support of the rank. Candidate, who has a Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one within a reasonable time period is preferred.

SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.
