Hours:

Part-time, temporary position, 15 hours a week

Able to work some Saturday mornings, evenings and weekends.

Hours may vary based on operational needs.

Job Description:

The program coordinator will be working with Public Health and Social Work faculty to provide education about dementia and dementia caregiving to members of the African American community in the city of Syracuse. The program coordinator provides information and referral services to program participants, performs public outreach activities throughout the South Side and South West neighborhoods of Syracuse, and assists the project director and project evaluator with a variety of administrative and programmatic tasks. Applicants must have their own transportation and be able to work some Saturday mornings, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

• At least an undergraduate degree in social work or public health, a graduate degree or presently working toward a graduate degree is preferred

• Knowledge of and experience with client engagement strategies.

• Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate with community partners; including referral processes.

• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy standards.

• Proven ability to work independently

• Computer Literacy (experience with Microsoft applications)
