Job Description
The United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a position in the area of Material/Inorganic Chemistry. Qualified candidates at assistant professor levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to research and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidate should is also expected to have demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise, publish his/her research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University. The application package should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, a 3-5-page statement of research accomplishments and future plans, teaching philosophy, and courses taught. English is the language of instruction and communication. Screening of applications will continue until the position is filled. Candidates will be required to teach physical chemistry courses on undergraduate and graduate level along with General Chemistry courses. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Material/Inorganic Chemistry from a International /Western university (US/Canada/Europe/Australia) in material sciences or any other suitable research will be considered. The candidate must have a publication track-record in top tier journals. Previous teaching experience at the university level would be a plus. Candidates applying will be required to arrange 3 letters of recommendations. Strong junior candidates that qualify for Assistant Professorship will be considered. Minimum Qualification
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in the applicable field. The ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must. Industrial and professional experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualification
Applicants with specialization in experimental mataerial/inorganic chemistry are especially encouraged to apply. All applicants should ensure that they include a teaching philosophy, and two independent one-page A4 size research proposals in the area of Physical Chemistry. Both proposals should contain information on possible sources of funding to support such research, required start-up funds and instrumentation needs.
