The Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences is a research intensive Faculty with extensive teaching operations in Australia, Asia and the Middle East. The National Institute for Applied Statistics Research Australia (NIASRA) is committed to developing and applying innovative statistical methods to important problems. It undertakes a range of fundamental and contract research, major consulting projects, and professional education in statistical methodology. The Centre for Bioinformatics and Biometrics (CBB) within NIASRA is seeking to appoint a motivated applied statistician to provide high level input into the new Grains Research and Development Corporation’s (GRDC’s) initiative at UOW which aims to maximise return on investment in grains research by underpinning the GRDC research portfolio with high quality statistical and bioinformatics support and research delivered through meaningful, long term collaboration with researchers and stakeholders. As a key member of this initiative you will have the opportunity to undertake collaborative research associated with GRDC funded projects which address research problems of significance to the Grains Industry of Australia and you will also work with the members of three other statistics nodes funded by the GRDC and located in Perth, Adelaide and Toowoomba. There will be opportunity for methodological research motivated from the collaborative research.
