This is a full-time position for the research laboratory at the Cutaneous Biology Research Center.
The position requires a person who is familiar with handling mice. The person will be working independently breeding mice of multiple strains, which requires the knowledge of mouse genetics, strain nomenclature, breeding strategies and assistive reproductive techniques. Performing PCR reactions to determine the genotypes of mice
The person will be involved in multiple research projects.
Independent working condition once trained.
Executes protocols of non-routine experiments
Animal handling techniques are a requisite for blood draws, tailing and treatment of mice
Transcribe, analyze data , and present reports
Organize and summarize data using scientific and statistical technology
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Must be realistic, objective, measurable and related to essential functions of this job.
Familiarity with genetics and breeding techniques.
Knowledge of multiple manipulations in mice, such as injections, surgeries and basic handling. Requires a person with ability to work independently and has good communication skills
The person should have good record keeping abilities and attention to detail
High degree of computer literacy
