HCS, Inc. is one of the leading environmental engineering consulting and construction services firms in the country, consistently ranked by Engineering News Record. We are seeking a Construction Engineer Technician to join us in our Construction division. This entry level position will be part of HCS operations and assigned to a project construction site in Cincinnati, Ohio through 2019. Future assignments include work at various project locations across the country and will involve 100 % Travel.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT AN INTERNSHIP; IT IS A FULL TIME POSITION.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist and report directly to the onsite Construction Manager to support daily construction operations.

  • Detailed documentation of subcontractor work activities, including development and maintenance of daily field reports and tracking spreadsheets.

  • Management of all project manifesting.

  • Work as a liaison to design and engineering teams to provide detailed and real time information of field conditions to resolve technical problems

  • Perform onsite soil and groundwater sampling duties as required to support the project.

  • Assist with status updates to the project schedule.

  • Obtain vendor quotations to confirm or acquire market pricing

  • Assist the onsite health and safety officer with monitoring and correcting safety behaviors and practices

REQUIREMENTS

• 1-5 years of experience in a similar role

• Educational background: B.S. in civil and/or environmental engineering degree preferred, construction management degree considered

• Excellent computer aptitude and proficient with the use of Microsoft software programs

• Valid driver’s license

• OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER trained preferred but not required
