HCS, Inc. is one of the leading environmental engineering consulting and construction services firms in the country, consistently ranked by Engineering News Record. We are seeking a Construction Engineer Technician to join us in our Construction division. This entry level position will be part of HCS operations and assigned to a project construction site in Cincinnati, Ohio through 2019. Future assignments include work at various project locations across the country and will involve 100 % Travel.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT AN INTERNSHIP; IT IS A FULL TIME POSITION.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist and report directly to the onsite Construction Manager to support daily construction operations.
Detailed documentation of subcontractor work activities, including development and maintenance of daily field reports and tracking spreadsheets.
Management of all project manifesting.
Work as a liaison to design and engineering teams to provide detailed and real time information of field conditions to resolve technical problems
Perform onsite soil and groundwater sampling duties as required to support the project.
Assist with status updates to the project schedule.
Obtain vendor quotations to confirm or acquire market pricing
Assist the onsite health and safety officer with monitoring and correcting safety behaviors and practices
REQUIREMENTS
• 1-5 years of experience in a similar role
• Educational background: B.S. in civil and/or environmental engineering degree preferred, construction management degree considered• Excellent computer aptitude and proficient with the use of Microsoft software programs• Valid driver’s license • OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER trained preferred but not required
