Job Description:

This position within Online Platforms (Division of Marketing and Communications) will join a team of back-end/front-end web developers, systems administrators/platform architects, and an information architect to develop and maintain the central web presence of Syracuse University.

The developer position will have direct access to production hosting environments, and will be responsible for the template files controlling our central, public web presence and simultaneously the presences of all other sites using centrally supported themes.

Currently developed and managed using the WordPress CMS, the web developer position will work closely with interactive designers regarding front-end UI/UX requirements, and will lead discussion on industry best-practices with particular focus on enterprise scalability, site performance, cross browser/device compatibility, and search rank. This position will mentor junior teammates and serve as an authority on best-practices in current web development.

This position will be responsible for architecting and developing the back-end services in addition to API integrations with other systems such as Qualtrics and SalesForce.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent amount of education and work experience.

• Minimum of 5 (five) years of work experience related to web design, development and maintenance.
