Graduate Engineer – Civil

Macon, Georgia

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our renowned Aviation team in Macon, GA as a Graduate Engineer! As a member of our team, you will work with Civil Engineers, Designers, Technicians, and Planners to provide engineering expertise at airports in Florida, Georgia and across the country including small general aviation airports, large international hub airports, and military bases. In this position, you will be responsible for preparing detailed drawings using AutoCAD, frequently performing calculations for project dimensions and elevations, computing and tabulating quantities, and occasionally performing preliminary surveys and construction administration duties as needed. As shown by our extensive portfolio, you will contribute to the rehabilitation and construction of runways, taxiways, aprons, utilities, roadways, NAVAIDS, fueling facilities, and security enhancements, which will provide you with a variety of challenging project opportunities.

Note: To be considered for this position and to perform the assigned responsibilities, the selected candidate must complete and pass all background and security requests required by state and/or federal agencies responsible for aviation operations as a condition of employment.

Required Qualifications:To make an impact and contribute to our team, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamental of Engineering/EIT exam. Candidates with Professional Engineer registration in Georgia will also be considered.
  • Recent graduate or experienced professional with 0-5 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to participate in project team discussions.
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • Ability to carry up to 40 pounds of surveying equipment while walking over rough terrain.
  • Ability to travel as needed for construction administration, team meetings, client consultations, site inspections/visits, etc.; Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:The following qualifications are a plus and will help you make a smooth transition into your new role:

  • Previous training or experience with Civil 3D or ArcGIS.
  • Previous experience conducting topographic surveys.
  • Previous experience with construction administration responsibilities.
  • Previous experience with projects related to aviation or municipal design.
