This role will apply advanced business analysis across the BESS programme including the analysis and resolution of complex problems at all stages of the BESS programme life cycle from initiation to delivery, to ensure the programme works to plan and time and delivers the desired business benefits.

The BESS Programme (Building Education & Society Sustainability) seeks to create the global operating environment which will make E&S more sustainable over a 4 year period. BESS will:

  • Create a joined-up and efficient operation globally, with less duplication and clearer accountabilities and decision-making.
  • Ensure greater prioritisation and focus on what we do and what we want to be known for by 2020
  • Improve strategic decision making (both impact and income) about the current and future business
  • Ensure better understanding of the cost of managing our business now and moving forward
  • greater cost control
  • Create more efficient processes and systems to save time and reduce duplication
  • Build a more flexible and agile work force and invest in the development of our people to support the 2020 vision
  • Result in more staff time ‘sold’ into projects and programmes to reduce overheads
  • ‘Leverage’ more partnership funding and reduce grant spend
  • Create a commercial environment which ensures all contracts cover their costs and increase surpluses to reinvest into our work.
  • Demonstrate VFM to external stakeholders
  • Embed consistent and compliant ways of working globally.

Analytic tasks include:

  • Business analysis to support setting appropriate programme SMART objectives at an overarching business level, work stream level and regional business level.
  • Current state business analysis – process mapping, productivity assessment, service level testing, etc.
  • Future state business design and on-going development support, whether processes, people, technology specification, etc.
  • Supporting resultant ‘gap analysis’ on how best to design the programme, detailed delivery development, and benefits planning, procurement support, etc.
  • Associated roles involved in programme delivery, portfolio or cross-programme management.

What we require of the successful candidate:

▪ Demonstrable experience of providing range of business analysis services throughout the project life cycle on change programmes (from development of Business Case through to benefits analysis & realisation) impacting at global and regional SBU levels

▪ Track record of delivering sustainable business-focussed solutions

▪ Detailed understanding of business process mapping and design and systems analysis and design

▪ Extensive experience of business analysis and development for business programmes designed to achieve greater impact, increase income, reduce expenditure, create a more efficient operating environment and increases staff capability and capacity

▪ Ability to present complex information using a range of different techniques e.g. info-graphics, Microsoft project etc
