Position Overview:
Our Graphic Design Studio specializes in the design of visual communication systems that shape relationships between people and places. Our expertise includes design for environments, publications and brands. We specialize in information design and identity design, environmental graphic design, signage and wayfinding, as well as marketing and fundraising collateral.
The Graphic Designer will work on a variety of project types and play a key part of a small creative studio that benefits from the resources and opportunities of a larger multi-disciplinary framework. The ideal candidate will be a highly talented, smart and creative person. They will be a knowledgeable professional who is proactive, curious, accountable, inspiring, and driven to pursue design and communication excellence.
Responsibilities:
Work both independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
Communicate directly with internal and external clients
Define visual communication goals and articulate how they are supported by design decisions
Work with guidance and direction from direct report and senior leadership
Ensure the quality and integrity of projects from concept through implementation
Create and maintain graphics for the corporate website and other electronic communications (coding experience is not required)
Be accountable for the details of the work and assist others with quality assurance reviews
Participate in design workshops and critiques
Design materials that reflect the identity of the firm
Develop solutions within a budget and on time
Develop and maintain branded templates to be applied to the firm’s corporate communications, business systems and marketing proposals
Assist the business development team with unique marketing projects and presentations
Create effective infographics and data visualization tools
Qualifications:
BA or similar degree in graphic design required
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Growing professional acumen and comfort articulating and presenting to internal groups
Demonstrated ability to work in teams
Typographic excellence and sound knowledge of graphic design principles and processes
Strategic thinker able to establish goals and solutions for effective visual communication
Ability to analyze data and create effective and accurate information graphics
A demonstrated ability to design for multi-page publications
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of craft
Knowledge of printing and production processes
Experience working with vendors and consultants such as printers, writers, and photographers
Experience working within brand guidelines and developing complementary branded material
A demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to completion
