Position Description:
deciBel Research, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated/inquisitive individual to work Software IV&V. Should be able to participate in all of the major system and software development reviews in order to understand the requirements, and develop a top down traceability matrix. Will develop tools and scripts for the SW IVV team to use during static and/or dynamic analysis activities. Will execute dynamic analysis on software products provided by the IFPC Inc 2-I Product Office and will document findings for a dynamic analysis report. Will participate in software test document reviews and develop an independent set of software tests, as necessary. Will also be responsible for witnessing acceptance testing conducted by the prime developer. Will develop software IV&V plans, and analyze interfaces, data flows, exception handling, timing budgets, and memory allocations. Must be able to compare software to design and development requirements, and ensure all software requirements are qualified through test, analysis, demonstration or inspection (TADI). Must be able to assess software capability to meet specified design and performance requirements, experience in defining and creating a lab environment to use in the performance of the software IV&V activities, and experience in running static and dynamic software IV&V tools such as Understand 2.0, Klocworks, and Flawfinder. Experience with the use of Wireshark or other network traffic analyzers a plus.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field with 1+ years of experience in a technical field.

Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess at least one year of software development experience or an understanding of various programming languages (C, C++, JavaScript). At least one year of software IV&V experience preferred. Should also be able to assess software capability to meet specified design and performance requirements, and experience in developing software IV&V processes and procedures.

Special Skills Desired:
Knowledge of the Unix/Linux Operating System is desired. Ability to analyze firmware and hardware interfaces, data flow, exception handling, timing budgets, and memory allocations is a plus. Experience running static/dynamic IV&V software tools is also a plus.
