Position: Senior Project Manager

Job Summary: Responsible for administering all phases of projects from proposal development through construction completion. Primary responsibility for planning/scoping, budgeting, scheduling, design, specifications, working drawings, bidding and construction administration on a given project with authority to direct, control and monitor all activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manages complex engineering and design work including use of advanced and innovative techniques.
  • Leads multidiscipline technical and engineering teams with an understanding of architecture, construction, landscaping, commissioning, and various engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Performs economic calculations and financial modeling
  • Manages large projects spanning multiple disciplines and involving other senior engineers and subconsultants
  • Troubleshoots operating systems, compliance challenges, and resolves disputes.
  • Develops innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Prepares detailed reports and specifications for large and high-profile projects.
  • Prepares proposals and construction estimates for large and high-profile projects.
  • Produces meeting agendas, reports and punch lists.
  • Leads construction meetings and regulatory negotiations with a firm understanding of code and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Reviews construction related documents including bids, submittals and RFIs.
  • Develops business with new and existing clients.
  • Provides direction and mentors engineers and staff.
  • Assists designers and other engineers with time management and prioritization.
  • Arranges and attends internal training sessions for P2S staff.
  • Attends professional meetings and participates in professional organizations.
  • Implements a continuing education plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

To execute this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty timely and accurately. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position. Duties are generally performed in an office environment and may include out-of-town travel for field work, meetings, and site visits necessary to complete assignments.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant field
  • Experience: 10+ years direct Project Management experience required, has repeatedly demonstrated capacity to manage major and long-term projects
  • Supervision: Receives only general administrative direction as to project requirements
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: California Professional Engineering Certificate (preferred); DBIA (preferred)
  • Skills: Organized and detail-oriented
  • Computer skills: Intermediate understanding of functions and operations of Microsoft Office 6; familiarity with, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD200, Revit
