Job Description:

The Chemistry Department at Syracuse University is seeking to hire a part-time instructor to teach CHE 326 – Organic Chemistry II Laboratory (2 credits) during Summer Session II (July 1-August 9, 2019). This course is contingent upon successful enrollment.

Course description: Laboratory to accompany CHE 325. Further development of organic laboratory skills and techniques. Experiments illustrate principles of organic reactions and structure determination. Prerequisite: CHE276, Corequisite: CHE 325

The laboratory class is scheduled Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.

Qualifications:

ABD or PhD in Chemistry.

Experience with teaching organic chemistry lab preferred.

Job Specific Qualifications:

The duties associated with the teaching assignment include:

Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.

Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.

Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.

Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.

Meeting all designated class periods.
