Position Description:
Candidate will be responsible for management of technical services associated with Civil Engineering Design, Planning, and Assessment Services. This entails comprehensive Civil Engineering discipline services for projects with New York City based clients such as NYC Department of Transportation, NYC Department of Design and Construction, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and others. The successful candidate shall have experience with urban street design and construction and knowledge of the New York State DOT and New York City DOT standards and specifications. This includes knowledge of preparation of CAD Drawings per the agencies’ standards. Additional responsibilities include management of civil engineering project design staff, management of design consultant payments, review of consultant budget and schedule and compliance with Urban’s quality program. Candidate will work with the client to meet contractual obligations, resolves claims and change orders; interfaces with public agencies, corporations, governmental officials, and consultants during design and construction. Candidate will also provide supervision of the Engineering staff to deliver the final design/construction project.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Master’s Degree in Engineering is preferred along with being a registered NY PE. Five to ten years of experience with civil engineering infrastructure design is required. Candidate must have demonstrated experience on multi-project facility design/construction programs with construction value over $5M, including conceptual programming, permitting, design and construction administration. Candidate must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and the ability to become competent with latest project management software and reporting systems. Candidates shall also have good written and verbal communication skills.
