The goal of UNT at Frisco is to create problem-based learning that builds critical thinking and provides students with opportunities to work on projects alongside industry partners combined with convenient, innovative curriculum. UNT’s expansion into Frisco, aka Sports City, USA, and the nation’s second fastest-growing city, is expected to provide new opportunities for both students and faculty.

Position Summary

The University of North Texas invites applications for multiple non-tenure system positions in the clinical ranks to join the initial cadre of faculty in support of the new branch campus located in Frisco, Texas—the nation’s fastest growing city—located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area. This effort is the next phase in the partnership with the City of Frisco to create a new branch campus focused on career readiness for the 21st Century. UNT at Frisco supports 20 plus undergraduate and graduate degrees and more than 1,700 students at three locations. Planning for the permanent campus is underway with the first building, a $115 million facility, is scheduled for completion in fall of 2022.

The faculty will be part of the new multidisciplinary department housed in New College. They will contribute to the recently approved Bachelor of Science in Project Design & Analysis. This innovative, interdisciplinary project-based degree program is designed to provide applied education to prepare students for their careers. We seek faculty who want to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Hired faculty, where possible, will be jointly appointed with other departments within the University of North Texas.

We seek faculty with demonstrated experience and expertise in project design and analysis. This expertise can be applied in any disciplinary or interdisciplinary field. Of particular interest are:
• Business
• Natural sciences
• Applied mathematics
• Applied politics and/or policy
• Disciplines within the Texas Core Curriculum, including but not limited to mathematics, biology, chemistry, English, political science, history, and philosophy.

Our faculty excel in engaging beyond the classroom in areas such as: cohort leadership; mentoring; career coaching; advising; recruiting; curriculum development; student clubs; and industry, community, and government engagement.
