Are you analytically creative and motivated by new challenges and want to work with one of our largest and most exciting ecommerce partners.

When you join Aimia Analytics you will be working in the Loyalty Analytics team to increase eBay’s breadth of commercial understanding through high quality, data driven insights and consultancy that create impact and drive change. The role will specifically align to eBay’s European division, supporting key markets in France, Italy & Spain (amongst others) to better understand the breadth & quality of their range, the strength of their pricing and overall trading & customer insight within their regions.

You will act as a key point of contact for the client to partner with across their insight needs, and work effectively to ensure high quality and high frequency insight against a joint analysis plan.

The role, reporting into an Insight Manager (and a dotted line into a Lead Analyst), is based primarily at Aimia’s London Office (80 Strand) with frequent domestic and international travel to eBay’s regional offices

What will you be doing:

  • Working together with your Insight Manager and Lead Analyst at Aimia and key stakeholders at eBay, you’ll be supporting and working on an analysis plan that adds value to our client. At any one point in time, it is expected to have a number of different analytical pieces of work underway and you will take an active role in helping prioritise and manage expectations as appropriate
  • You’ll take full responsibility for complex analytical projects, utilising multiple datasets such as SKU level transaction data, web data and customer information
  • You’ll prepare and present compelling & insightful analysis & reporting to help ensure eBay have the best range and prices to grow their regional businesses, predominantly working closely with regional category teams
  • You’ll work together with other eBay Aimia analysts to share learnings to add efficiency and scale to our analytics
  • You’ll establish and develop great working relationships with key contacts at eBay across the different regions you are supporting and take lead ownership of some key partner contacts across the different regions we support
  • You’ll travel as appropriate to the different regional offices to work directly with eBay employees to grow relationships and ensure analysis is as impactful as possible
  • You’ll work together with the Lead Analyst on the eBay account to identify any new analytical opportunities that Aimia can support eBay with
  • You’ll provide a positive contribution to the wider Aimia Analytical community, including active participation in the Analytics Academy
  • You’ll complete any other ad-hoc projects as required, possibly outside the eBay relationship and more with the other partners within the Nectar Coalition

What we would like you to have:

  • A degree in a numerate discipline (Mathematics, Statistics) or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in SQL and ideally SAS, R or equivalent
  • Experience of SKU level analytics
  • Solid experience in working in the field of data analysis and customer insight
  • Prior experience of working with commercial/category teams who are responsible for ranging and pricing, would be an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • To be a great communicator – ability to translate data into effective and influential insight
  • Previous consultancy experience would be beneficial

This role will suit you if:

  • You’re looking to work autonomously in a client-facing environment. You’ll take full responsibility for analytical projects and build strong collaborative partnerships with other experts within Aimia and with key individuals at eBay
  • You thrive on excellence all the way. You will need to deliver high quality, impactful insight. More than just attention to detail, you need to be ready to recommend the best techniques as well as deliver accurately and on time.
  • You will need to have strong project management skills to effectively manage stakeholder expectations by sharing clear timelines across all short and longer-term projects
  • You enjoy working on international projects and are willing to travel as appropriate
