About the Position

We are currently seeking a Water Resource Engineer to expand our team in North Vancouver Team.

The successful applicant will help with projects involving potable water network analysis, sanitary sewer analysis, drainage and master planning studies. This may include data analysis, feasibility design and hydraulic modelling studies using One of this industry standard software (PC-SWMM/InfoSWMM OR InfoWorks CS & ICM OR WaterCAD/InfoWater AND Arc GIS etc.) as well as other projects requiring detailed technical analysis.

This role will be involved in a variety of projects which could include model build and verification, using existing or new models to understand system performance and using the models to help the design of system improvements and enhancements to the Water/Wastewater/Drainage Network, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed designs. The role also includes producing technical reports and master plans, analyzing various types of flow, demand, population, water quality, and condition data, serving as task manager, maintaining task/project budgets and schedules, and mentoring junior-level staff and assisting senior-level engineers with the preparation of proposals.

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • Bachelors in Civil Engineering.
  • P.Eng. Designation or eligibility to register in province of practise.
  • Minimum of 5+ years professional experience as an Engineering professional
  • Good understanding of Hydraulics and Hydrology. River modelling would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of One these software - WaterCAD/InfoWater Or PC-SWMM/ InfoSWMM or InfoWorkCS/ICM and ArcGIS is an advantage
  • The ability to assume project management responsibilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • High levels of initiative, motivation and displays drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done
  • Strong people skills and an affinity with Opus Company values
