Position Purpose:Establishes and maintains network performance; troubleshooting network problems. Installation, monitoring and assisting in the operation and maintenance of the company network as well as managing and implementing all upgrades and/or improvements to the network and supporting applications. The successful candidate will need to bring their passion, experience, creativity and thinking outside the box knowledge to this role. Essential Duties:
Monitor and maintain all network related equipment in all sites and respond to alerts and outages
Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.
Collaborate and work with other IT Teams to help resolve issues
Help in design and implementation of new projects.
Participate in vendor relations for purchase and support of network equipment and maintenance contracts.
Participate in monthly data center maintenance and weekly change management meetings
Qualifications/Requirements of the Position:
Experience with Cisco Nexus 7k, 5k, 2k, 6500, 4500 series chassis switches
Required: 3-5 years of experience as a Cisco Network Engineer.
Experience with Cisco UCS environment
Must have network design experience with focus on the Cisco product line.
Must have experience with managing and troubleshooting Virtual Private Networks. Any Connect remote access and Lan-to-Lan connections
Must have general experience with managing firewalls in a multi-site high-availability environment. Cisco ASA experience is preferred.
Should be familiar with TACACS, including configuring of both server and clients.
Experience with SolarWinds NCM
Must have an understanding of Quality of Service; how to run a VoIP network.
Must have experience configuring and troubleshooting Wireless networks. Experience with Cisco WCS / WLC is a plus.
Prefer CCNA, CCDA, CCNP
