JOB PURPOSE
The Department of Finance and Economics at the University of Sharjah invites applicants for full-time permanent faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate ranks, starting during 2019/2020 Positions are also available as Visiting Academic.

Outstanding candidates from all research areas of Economics will be considered with preference to be given to candidates with a PhD in Economics from a recognized/accredited University.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach effectively in all areas of Economics. They may also contribute, if needed, by teaching at the master's(MBA , EMBA) and DBA programs . They will be expected to supervise graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidates are expected to engage in other educational scholarly and professional activities, liaise with industry, and undertake research in their areas of interest.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Teach courses in all areas of Economics the undergraduate and graduate levels. Lead active research and supervise graduate and undergraduate student projects/theses. Contribute to program development. Engage in Community service, including serving the profession. Contribute to undergraduate and graduate programs accreditation.​

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum qualification includes a Ph.D. in Economics or in a closely related field with graduate education record combining course work and research from a reputable and accredited institution of higher education.

COMPETENCIES
-Capability to teach courses in all areas of Economics.
-Proven record of ability to conduct high quality research.
-Demonstrated contributions to program development
-Preferred experience in USA, Europe, or Canada.
-working knowledge of relevant program accreditation systems
