Job Description:
This position within Digital Team (Division of Marketing and Communications) will join a team of back-end/front-end web developers and platform architects to host, secure, and maintain the central web presence of Syracuse University.
The Systems Administrator will work in collaboration with the Senior Platform Architect to assist in maintaining the hosting platforms responsible for serving and supporting the public marketing web presence for Syracuse University. This position works closely with both front-end and back-end developers to provide and support for ongoing product development and testing. Additionally, the System Administrator works with central IT’s UNIX, virtual enterprise technology, and information security teams to leverage the University’s Virtual Hosting Environment (VHE) for server operations and monitor emerging security threats, responding to vulnerability reports.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent amount of education and work experience.
• Minimum 3 (three) years of work experience related to administering systems and applications with a focus on security and performance optimization.
