Electrical Maintenance Technician

Essential Duties:- Respond to mill breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
- Complete assigned work orders and support operations during upset condition.
- Work closely with area operators to resolve maintenance related issues.
- Maintain Maximo backlog and keep it current at the end of each shift.
- Understand and support the area maintenance initiative.
- Assist in developing PMs for your area of responsibility.
- Know the downtime issues in your area and work to resolve them.
- Daily interaction with Area Operators and PIC’s. Read backlog to know and address their issues.
- Identify and resolve quality & safety issues in your area through the Maximo work orders.
- Communicate maintenance issues to Operators, Supervisors, Planners, and peers directly or via email.
- Interface with Area Lead and Planner to get down day & daily work scheduled
- Work with other crafts & operators to increase uptime reliability.
- Assist other crafts during breakdowns.
- Check the ‘Malvern Action Log’ and work with the Area Planner to get items in your Area resolved
- Investigate the root cause of equipment failure and make recommendations for long term fix.
- Enter appropriate work orders for all work.
- Attend/Participate in maintenance crew meetings and other group functional meetings/training.
- Support the Asset Reliability Process (ARP) as it is rolled out. This includes Area Management, Planning & Scheduling, Daily Schedules, etc.
- Support the team to resolve process related issues and during process upset conditions.
- Support the team to maintain activities for meeting, training, and on-shift vacation coverage.
- Wear radio and respond to issues in your area when needed. Let Operations and peers know about changes made while you are on shift.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Journeyman Electrical License required
- Three years AC & DC motor control experience (including drives) required
- Three years electrical troubleshooting experience required
- Familiarity of the basic functions of a CMMS system preferred
- Strong communication skills required
- Ability to work extended hours and rotating shift as required
- Ability to work at heights, in hot, noisy & dirty environments required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs required
- Proven ability to be a self-motivated and a self-starter required
- Knowledge of Maximo with SAP
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred
