We are looking for an experienced civil engineer who loves their work and would like to ditch the complications that take all the enjoyment out of it. We will be particularly attracted to candidates who have an interest in water and wastewater, municipal or transportation projects to join our team in Iowa City. We are a group people who really love this business and enjoy the fact that we've been making many of the same clients happy for more than 40 years . The atmosphere is collegial and the conflicts are few.
Here's the job
You'll be using everything you've learned to provide civil, municipal, land development and/or environmental engineering services. You’ll own most of your projects and chip in to help other pros with details on theirs. You'll also play a role in training newbies who come in with great credentials but need your wisdom and experience. You’ll apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow standard office procedures through a series of related detailed steps or processes. This position works directly with clients to deliver the highest quality result possible – on time and on budget.
You will work in a team environment with fellow staff engineers, project engineers and environmental scientists. You’ll draft reports, prepare plans, screen suppliers and oversee construction compliance. You’ll work with clients to obtain data or share information. We'll expect that you know how to do your job and actually let you do it.
You provide this
You’ll need a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, an Iowa license (or the ability to get one). You should speak and write well – clients have to believe in your expertise. We expect that you have a steady, positive track record as a pro - and a team player.
We provide this
We encourage to stretch professionally and, when the going gets tough, we'll offer great team support to make success happen. You'll get a steady supply of work and the opportunity to earn more from the clients you serve from a company that's been growing since 1975. You'll be compensated fairly for the work you do and receive benefits like medical/life/disability insurance, 401K and a profit sharing plan, paid time off and an awesome work environment.
