Description
The Circulation Services Librarian reports directly to the Director of the Library and Information Services and is responsible for providing assistance to library patrons in obtaining materials and information; for assisting librarians in the organization of library materials; for shelving of library materials and for performing a variety of tasks relative to the public service area. This position requires the ability to access, input and retrieve data from the circulation and other modules of the integrated library system; the ability to print, scan and copy; the ability to retrieve information and materials from shelves; the ability to effectively receive and provide information about the library; and the ability to communicate effectively with patrons at the public circulation desk.

Responsibilities
1. Provide professional top-level public services to library patrons weekdays, weekends and night shifts. (40 hours total).
2. Provide efficient and polite customer service at the Circulation Desk, adhering to all library policies and procedures developed in concert with the administration.
3. Serve as the first point of contact for all patrons. Guide tour groups and carries out public relations tasks for visitors.
4. Maintain the Library Management System, Circulation module. Set the parameters and enters all new patron records.
5. Respond to patrons' questions and request for holds and recalled items.
6. Maintain the Course Reserves collection in concert with ADA Faculty.
7. Perform a variety of daily activities for the library; open or close the library; monitor the library security system; secure book drops and computer terminals; be aware of all aspects of the building and its infrastructure.
8. Ensure that all library items are returned and controlled as mandated.
9. Oversee the shelving and re-shelving of all library materials.
10. May assist in the maintenance of library collection and identify materials for mending and reclassification.
11. Respond to customer inquiries regarding library services and operations; refers inquiries to other departments or staff as appropriate.
12. Communicate and work in a team with the other members of the Library staff—in all departments.
13. Attends work on a regular and dependable basis.

Requirements
1. An accredited bachelor’s degree of Library Science or equivalent.
2. Fluency in written and oral English and Azerbaijani.
3. One year of related library experience.
4. Methods and techniques of customer service.
5. Ability to respond to requests and inquiries from library users.
6. Ability to work accurately and pay attention to details.
7. Good communication and organizational skills.
8. Flexible approach and willingness to work in other departments.
9. Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a team.
