The Computer Science and Engineering department is home to 12 Professors, 10 Associate Professors, 7 Assistant Professors, 6 Lecturers, over 100 Ph.D. students, over 100 master students, and over 1300 bachelor students. We offer a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, M. S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, ABET-accredited B. S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, and an ABET-accredited B. A. degree in Information Technology. The Department of Mathematics has 24 tenure system faculty, 11 lecturers, about 55 graduate students, and 220 majors. Our graduate degree offerings include a Ph.D. in Mathematics as well as M.A. and M.S. degrees. Position Summary
The University of North Texas (UNT), a Tier 1 Research Institution (Carnegie Classification as a Doctoral University: Highest Research Activity), invites applications from outstanding scientists for a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor levels with membership in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Department of Mathematics, and the BioDiscovery Institute (BDI), one of four recently established Institutes of Research Excellence (http://bdi.unt.edu). Candidates with demonstrable expertise in computational life sciences and interests in addressing important fundamental and applied questions in the synthesis and development of bio-based products for agriculture, materials engineering, bioenergy or health benefits are especially encouraged to apply. We are seeking an individual working in the general area of multi-scale computational modeling that can interact with researchers working from molecular-scale to population-scale levels.
The selected candidate will contribute to graduate and undergraduate training, and interact with diverse faculty, staff and students within BDI as well as the in the departments of computer science and engineering and mathematics.
