Scope of Job:
To provide professional knowledge, advise, and counseling skills regarding the institutional admissions and recruitment process. Responsible for counseling prospective students, parents, educational administrators and other interested persons regarding admissions requirements, policies and procedures.
Description of Duties:
• Travels frequently to high schools, colleges and other learning institutions to publicize and explain the University’s admission and financial aid process to students and parents.
• Assists and tracks student progress throughout admissions process.
• Organizes and conducts receptions and special programs for prospective students and their parents.
• Creates and delivers presentations on admissions and financial aid requirements to high school students, paraprofessionals, counselors, administrators and parents.
• Creates and maintains a network with high school and community college counselors.
• Replies to all forms of correspondence, phone calls, from prospective students, parents and high school contacts.
• Interprets and maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures pertaining to admission and financial aid.
• Plans and prepares all documents needed for travel accommodation and reimbursement.
• Completes weekly and monthly reports on recruitment efforts for supervisor.
• Assists with campus tours and new student orientations.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Texas driver’s license required (Class C) or ability to obtain within six (6) weeks of hire.
Preferred Experience:
One (1) year of experience counseling students in admissions, financial aid, or a related area.
