Public Job DescriptionTHOR Solutions is seeking a Computer Operator III located in Newport, RI and in support of the US Navy.Position Responsibilities
Provide SME level support for the Cyber Security Work Force (CSWF) mission to provide security and mission assurance for the interdependent network of Information Technology infrastructures (switches and routes), including the internet, telecommunications networks, computer systems, and embedded processes and controllers of the customer organization.
Maintain and update Information Assurance security planning and accreditation documentation. Install, maintain, and document Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) compliance, Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVB), and Security Technical Information Guides (STIG) within the customer organization's infrastructure, including both Windows and Linux machines.
Conduct studies and analyses of new Information Assurance and Information Technology trends, policies, regulations and investigate the feasibility of applying new solutions into the customer organization's infrastructure and architecture. Provide recommendations for Information Assurance hardware, software and peripherals to the customer organizations for consideration for future upgrades.
Provide technical support to the customer organization in conducting self-audits of the infrastructure environment for compliance with Department of Defense, Department of Navy, and local command policies, procedures, and regulations. Maintain a current Department of Navy Applications & Database Management Systems (DADMS) account and provide application searches and status, and prepare required documentation to update and add new application to DADMS. Support maintenance of the customer's inventory utilizing the Base Inventory and Tracking System (BITS) and support the Certification and Accreditation of the customer's Information Technology systems.
Security Clearance Requirement
A current active SECRET security clearance is required.
Position Qualification Requirements
Must have an Associate’s Degree in a technical field. A Bachelor's Degree in a technical field is highly desired.
Must possess valid cybersecurity baseline credentials, including CompTIA A+ce and Configuring Windows 7 Certifications.
Must have 5-7+ years of computer programming experience.
Must have experience solving conventional programming problems.
Must have experience in developing, modifying, and maintaining assigned programs.
Must have experience in designing and implementing modifications to the interrelation of files and records within a program or programs in consultation with senior level personnel.
Must have experience monitoring the operation of assigned programs and responding to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding.
Must have experience in implementing and/or maintaining assigned portions of a scientific programming project, applying established scientific programming techniques to well-defined mathematical, statistical, engineering, or other scientific problems usually requiring the translation of mathematical notation into processing logic and code.
Must have experience in guiding or instructing lower level programmers, and supervising technicians and others who assist in specific assignments.
