We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to be part of a growing Marketing department who is a collaborative and experienced Marketing professional.

As Manager, Marketing, the primary objective is to lead the marketing function for the LA Region –with primary focus on the Fashion Square and Valencia Town Center properties, to execute short and long term plans that drive sales, traffic and NOI growth. Along with the Sr. Director, the Manager, Marketing will work closely with corporate development/design and other relevant teams and be the main contact for marketing needs as the center evolves and develops over time. In addition, the Manager, Marketing will oversee the marketing function in terms of supporting local marketing strategy, interpretations and execution of national brand programs, be considerate to budget management, campaign execution and measurement, ensuring that business and in-center objectives and KPIs are met.

This individual will:

•Lead the marketing operational and executional aspects related to the development of Valencia Town Center

oWork with cross-functional team members in Design, Development, National Marketing, Facilities and other relevant stakeholder groups

oEnsure implementation of development plan and coordinate marketing signage for barricades while concentrating on Center campaigns simultaneously

•Contribute to the development of the Valencia Town Center strategic plan as the center moves into the development stage

oAttend meetings as deemed appropriate

•Work/partner with Sr. Director, Marketing, General Managers and National Marketing team to achieve both individual center and combined market goals

oWork and support specifically with Valencia Town Center as the center evolves

oBe able to work with key stakeholders in the Community to build relationships

Work with the City of Santa Clarita in obtaining permits when necessary

•Streamline work processes by combining efforts where possible and identifying areas of opportunity related to market synergies, operational efficiencies and cost savings

•Assist the Sr. Director, Marketing in the planning, development and production and execution of local marketing programs/campaigns, marketing plan development, and center strategic plan (for VTC)

oIn-center events/activations, visual merchandising

oMessaging, in-center signage, graphics

•Ability to understand, communicate and take appropriate action on sales trends, retailer revenue, kick-outs and percentage rent tenants

•Define, communicate and maintain high standards of customer service

•Ensure that all site requirements are dealt with in a timely manner

•Manage marketing budgets for programs and campaigns and work with SD on over Center budgets across the LA Region

•Execute to best practice standards that best represent the Westfield brand and deliver the ultimate customer experience

•Be able to communicate at all levels of management; both written and verbal

Job responsibilities are:

STRATEGIC & FINANCIAL

•Work/partner with Sr. Director, Marketing to determine market priorities for Valencia Town Center and Fashion Square and assets in order to allocate marketing resources to the most important/key issues

•Assist in the development and review of individual center business plans, strategic plan and marketing budgets to ensure all key items are represented in line with the center strategies

•Manage marketing program budgets to meet expectations set by the Sr. Director, Marketing and National Marketing – understand LA Region budgets across all centers

•Assist in retail relations to understand retailer needs and leverage relationships

•Review and interpret local, national and global competitor activities and behavior for trends and potential ideas/application to Westfield and future campaigns

OPERATIONAL/CENTER MANAGEMENT

•Identify best practice approaches and execution in the market and share results nationally and within center teams

•Collaborate with Sr. Director, Marketing and asset partners on the development and execution of marketing campaigns that leverage opportunity for additional revenue

•Partner with Center Management Ops team and Sr. Director, Marketing to ensure center operational issues are

•Review post analysis and results for all major campaigns ensuring measurability and quality, sharing results with key stakeholders

•Support the center’s management team with operational duties including manager on duty responsibilities

•Work with management, operations, facilities and leasing teams to execute on best practices across all touch points of the customer journey

•Strive to improve and build upon overall customer service and amenities

•Research best practices seeking new ideas to incorporate into the menu of Westfield services and amenities

•Have a detailed understanding of sales performance and traffic results for the center a comparison to key benchmar

ks in the business / industry and the implication to on-going strategy

•Develop strong retailer relations by maintaining a thorough understanding of the retailer business

•Solicit and encourage retailer participation / support and integration to marketing programs as an effort to promote their business and add value to the overall center marketing plan

CONSUMER MARKETING & COMMUNICATION

•Execute the local implementation of marketing programs based on best practices that deliver on the Westfield brand standard as directed by Sr. Director, Marketing and VP/Senior Director, National Marketing

•Work in partnership with the VP/Manager, Digital Marketing, and National Corporate Content Group to curate and publish content to Westfield owned digital and social media channels, including monitoring and reporting on content results

•Execute content plan (work with National Corporate Content) including digital and social channels to support local execution of national programs, local programs and center positioning in the market

•Partner with retailers to support openings, drive sales and promote offers/deals and events on the website

•Communicate on a daily basis with multiple community stakeholders – Chamber of Commerce, Non-profit organizations, Schools, Charities, etc…

•Ensure all communication meets Westfield brand guidelines, standards, guidelines and tone

•Develop and manage media relations in the community including local public relations support for local marketing campaigns, regional programs, new store openings and crisis management as directed by Sr. Director, Marketing

•Develop and manage community relations, outreach, partnerships and sponsorships for the center

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

•College degree required

•5+ years of Marketing and/or related experience

•Strong business acumen, strategic orientation, and general operation experience

•Strength in leadership, strategy, marketing, and financial management

•Familiar with digital and social media platforms and curating content

•Experience in public relations, preferred

•Exceptional communication skills, clear, concise and professional representation is expected

•Knowledge of real estate and / or retail development, retail marketing, leasing and operations a plus

•Strong analytical capability, especially in understanding and applying marketing/retail trends and marketing communication principles

•Must be flexible and able to work event shifts which may include nights, weekends and holidays

•Ability to travel as needed

Direct report to the Sr. Director, Marketing

Indirect to VP, National Marketing and District General Manager
