DESCRIPTION

The Undergraduate Admissions Office has an excellent opportunity for a talented and driven Web Application Developer. Responsibilities include all stages of the application development life-cycle from design to implementation and support of enterprise-level Web applications, systems, and processes. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Experiences with web application platforms is required. This includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web services, SQL, and application development languages/platforms such as .NET, PHP, Java, ColdFusion or JavaScript frameworks. Experience with object oriented development with MVC frameworks, knowledge of JavaScript frameworks, Java and related frameworks, and content management system experience are strongly desired. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, initiative to seek creative solutions to problems, readily adapt to learning new systems and methodologies, have a strong commitment to and record of successfully meeting goals and deadlines, and have a desire to learn processes and policies related to undergraduate admissions at Penn State. The successful candidate must also be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
