Summary:

Utah Valley University is seeking Night Awake Counselors for the Summer Upward Bound Program. The night awake staff monitors students who will be sleeping in the dorms and performs hourly bedroom checks to ensure safety and well-being of students throughout the night. Escorts students to UVU campus. Communicates with program staff about any issues that arise. Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. This position requires staying awake all night.

This is a temporary summer Position. Training is May 28 – May 31. Employment Dates are June 2 – June 28.
There are two Shifts available:
Shift 1: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, 11:30 pm-8:30 am.
Shift 2: Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 pm-8:30 am.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation with a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of college education. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of policies and procedures in safety and ethical behavior.
  • Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to get along with different types of personalities.
  • Ability to stay awake all night.

Pay Range:

$14.00 - $17.00/hour
