This research associate professor position is assigned to the McNatt Institute’s Austin, Texas office. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a physical presence at the Austin office.

Position Summary

The Jim McNatt Institute for Logistics Research in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas invites applications for a non-tenure track position at the rank of research associate professor, to begin in Spring 2020. The individual is expected to be have a depth of expertise in planning, freight transportation, trade, and public policy and the ability to interact with transportation professionals and consult with state and local government officials.

We are seeking individuals with primary focus in the area of freight transportation and logistics, with a demonstrated record in conducting applied research and authoring technical reports and grant proposals in the field. The candidate is expected to have a record of consulting and conducting high quality research, authoring reports and position/white papers, and interacting with government agencies. The candidate should be current and well versed in key issues and trends affecting freight transportation and logistics at the local, state and national levels. The candidate is expected to be a collegial member of a research team focused on supporting externally funded grants and projects that seeks to develop an international reputation for quality research.
Salary is typical for a major research focused university. Responsibilities include conducting applied research, drafting grant proposals, and writing technical reports.
