The intern will provide support to the Environmental Department for projects throughout the plant that include material handling, production processes, analysis, and testing in an aluminum manufacturing smelter. The internship will provide guidance, coaching, and technical assistance from engineers and drafters in the Central Maintenance Engineering Department and Environmental Department. Key components of the position include project management, drawing assessment and creation, administrative support, system analysis and research, general project support, contractor oversight, document control, process improvement, engineering reviews, design support, and general support activities for Central Engineering. Your work will involve integrating engineering principles with systems to achieve high-efficiency, low maintenance requirements, and uphold high safety performance to achieve an injury-free workplace. This position requires office and field work in the plant. This position requires 40 hours per week not including lunches and breaks.
