The Synthesis manufacturing team at the client is responsible for the production and testing of various organic chemicals used in molecular biology applications, including lipids and nucleotides. Our team is dynamic and fast paced, relying on teamwork, multitasking and communication within the team and the larger organization. We are seeking an energetic individual with strong communication, technical, and operational skills to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

Analysis of various organic compounds using various analytical chemistry techniques, including HPLC, UPLC, HPIC, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, Mass spectrometry, NMR, and additional analysis duties as required. With limited supervision and training, operate and maintain Agilent, Waters, and HPLC, UPLC, and HPIC systems Extensive HPLC experience a must, especially in troubleshooting HPLC instrument and method failures Operate MALDI and ESI mass spectrometers

  • Revise and edit existing analytical chemistry protocols; participate in the development of analytical chemistry methods and protocols for new products. Optimize analytical chemistry lab layout and flow.

  • Periodically review and discuss your priorities with supervisor.

  • Accurate and reliable inventory management participation. Work synergistically with peers from your own and other groups.

  • Follow directions and instructions accurately.

  • Achieve high productivity while maintaining all quality standards.

  • Organize and prioritize work to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Critically think about the manufacturing process and suggest improvements to maintain high quality standards.

  • Adherence to ISO guidelines and the client's quality policy.

  • Actively participate in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional work environment.

  • Reliable and punctual attendance.

  • Responsible for the completion of all tasks assigned daily; this may require more than 40 hours in some work weeks.

  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.

  • Ability to work with chemicals.

  • Familiarity with techniques used in synthesis of organic compounds, including nucleotides and lipids, is preferred.

  • Master the use of specialized manufacturing software.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet programs, presentation software, and e-mail. Experience with SAP enterprise resource planning software is preferred.

  • M.S. Degree in Chemistry or related field; or B.S. Degree in Chemistry with 1-3 years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. some OT as needed, day shift
